I lose around 2.5 lbs a week and I eat about 1000 cals a day. I eat when I'm hungry so it's not like I'm starving myself and I know there are days I go over 1200 cals but it's only like once a week on Saturday and it's only like 300 cals more. I was wondering if I should eat more or if I should keep what I'm doing until I hit a plateau. I'm a little confused. I'm doing great but should I eat more so I don't hit that plateau?
 
i dont' know...if your loosing weight, i'd stick w/ it. i think plateus are inevitable...maybe wait till you hit one, then shake things up a bit?
 
I personally think anything under 1200 is dangerous and unhealthy, unless you're like 4ft 5in. You could be depressing your metabolism, and you are running the risk of not getting all the nutrients your body needs, or enough energy to function properly.
 
I think that you shouldn't loose more than 2lb a week safely but thats just my opinion. If you take that advice then you can increase your calorie intake slightly while still loosing :)

Yes, eat more! BUT- workout a little more . If you up your calorie intake by a few hundred calories, and work off a few hundred calories each day, you'll avoid the plateau you may be headed for.
Your metabolism will slow and adjust to the 1000cal you are on now. Toss in a little more exercise and you'll kick up the metabolism again. It's hard to live on 1000 cal/day for the rest of your life, so to avoid regaining once you reach your goal, it's important to get to a point where you can eat more and have a fit body and metabolism that will be maintainable.
 
I now eat 1200 cals a day and exercise at least 30 mins a day at Curves. I do work at a job where I'm on my feet all day. I'm not sure if I need to eat more or not.
 
Some people can pull it off. But I dont' recommend it.
I think 1200 cal of healthy food is way, way enough for myself. I find it slightly hard just fitting in those calories (while eating healthy) without over eating. Its deffinently a matter of both what you are eating as it is how many calories .

You are totally right. Two Chocolate Bars can fill up that 1200 faster than we think, but healthy food has much less and you can take in much more.
