Weight-Loss Not eating enough to loose weight?

Weight-Loss
I am a 40 year old guy, 230 lbs. 5 ft. 11 inches. 45 in. chest and 38 inch waist. I think I might be described as a Mesomorph. If I could only drop 20 pounds... I lift weights religiously and can move a lot of weight. I also do intense cardio on an elliptical 3 times a week. Basically, I am in the gym 5 to 6 days a week.

I analyzed my diet on Livestrong.com. The site wants me to consume 2250 calories a day and yet I am pushing my limits when I eat 1600. I went on my wife's Weight Watcher's account and I am eating around 34 points a day (which is "on point" for a guy, or so I read), but with my exercise, I am allowed to up my intake to around 41. My diet is pretty healthy, from what I can tell. My carbs are mostly natural (veggies and fruits), very little processed stuff. A good amount of protein too.

My weight has been very static. One would think that by eating fewer calories, I would loose weight just by default. But no... Have I basically slowed down my metabolism to the point where my system is holding on to every ounce? I feel like I am eating all the time, and as a result, I'm seldom very hungry.

Any thoughts on this? How could I up my calorie intake without packing it on at my waist? I am clearly doing something wrong. I am not looking for 6 pack abs, but I would like less "love handle." That is typically where I put on my weight... there and my lower back, a bit in the belly. Your suggestions are appreciated!

Cheers!

Yes it is a good strategy and really good for health and less eating is very accurate for health because less eating makes you more energetic.

Well, the problem is that you can't control where weight goes on. That is genetics. It sounds more like you hit a plateau. There is no sure fire way to get past one. your best bet might be to try slowly increasing your calorie intake for a short time then cut it back. Like I said, there is no sure fire way around it.

I say exercise AND diet is the way to go! Do ab exercises. Look up some on youtube. And eat a lot of fruits, carrots, and celery and peanut butter.
