hi everyone. i'm completley new to the world of running but have been thrown into it via the marine corps. i'm going to boot camp in february and i'm having to do some conditioning to get ready. i'm 6'2 230 at the moment (fairly overweight) . ive never been good at running and some people would even said it looks awkward when i run. at the moment i'm running 3-4 times a week gradually improving the distance and time (for example i'm doing a 1.5 running for 4 minutes and walking for a minute, then repeat. the next run will be 5 minutes running with 30 second breaks). those have seemed to help thus far.
one question i have is that is it normal to feel pain in the shin/calves area when you're running? would that be considered normal running fatigue or does it have something to do with how i'm running?
just to note, my ankles slightly turn in (not the feet) and ive had that since birth so is it possible that could affect my running?
thanks for any answers
