I had a baby just 8 weeks ago and during my pregnancy I gained 20 kilos (sorry I'm from Australia so not sure how much this is in pounds). I easily lost 10 kilos but can not get motivated to lose the rest. I'm eating more and craving more than when I was pregnant. I am a stay home mother now so this makes it too easy to be eating all the time. My partner has just bought me a treadmill coz it is winter here at the moment and too cold and wet to go walking. I really need some motivation and encouraging words to help me. We are going on holiday to Fiji at the end of year and really need to get in shape. If anyone has any suggestions for good exercises to tone up my flabby tummy let me know. Its great to read everyones messages and I think it is a great web site.

If I might make a suggestion.......I too am a stay-at-home Mom, and I really had to watch how much I was eating!! My suggestion is to buy plenty of healthy snacks like celery, carrots, cherries, apples, etc so that even if you do eat all day, you're eating healthy.
As for exercises for your tummy.....get yourself an exercise ball!! They're amazing and they don't cause your back to hurt as much as sit-ups and crunches do. Also, just suck in your tummy while you're on the treadmill. Hold it in for about 10 seconds (Don't hold your breath) and then relax. Repeat this as much as you can while walking.
Hope this helps :)
Congrats on your new baby....and enjoy your trip to Fiji!! I'm jealous ;)

Thanks Sudan588 for your suggestions, I was going to try to eating healthy this week and have no junk food but I think it lasted for a morning. But I am going to do what you suggested about the healthy snacks ready on hand. Will try the exercise ball also, have heard they work well.

Heya Kate again

You might want to start doing an ab program, the crunches shouldn't be hurting your back, if they are your postioning might be a little off, and sit ups dont work your stomach area as well. I've been doing the exercises on this site and its pretty good, they explain how to do each exercise, it takes around 20 minutes to do them all, I do double sets of them and its a pretty good workout.

Hi fitski thanks for the web site address on the ab exercise. Had a look and I will be putting together an ab program and try to do it everyday. I think your motivation is great and has given me the determination to succeed in my new diet and exercise plan. But why do they make junk food taste so good, its not fair.
