Sport No carbs in pre-workout meal?

So im reading bodybuilding.com today

Bodybuilding.com - Hugo Rivera - Hormonal Manipulation Through Macronutrient Intake!

This article has a recommendation that:

"For maximized GH output you may wish to eliminate all carbohydrates from the pre-workout meal"

what is GH? I have been taking in low GI starchy carbs (wholemeal rice, yams) pre workout, with high GI carbs post workout. Also, I only eat fibrous carbs in all other meals. Have I got it wrong?

I eat in a caloric deficit of about 600 cals and my goal is fat loss
