Anyone else here only eating turkey, chicken (and sometimes) fish?

A year ago my husband bought some turkey 'bacon' and we liked it. So then we tried turkey burgers and loved them too. Eventually we stopped buying pork and beef all together.

We still eat a steak or some sausage once or twice a month, but thats usually at a restaurant.

Well I can't say that I have given up beef or pork ... but I understand people who do and I often cook w/out either or even cook veggie. :)

One thing I won't do is turkey bacon. Turkey bacon is (IMO) just the same as any processed meat. Real bacon is ... well, real. :) It's an actual cut of meat from an actual animal. You can point at the pig and say "this is where the bacon is". Turkey bacon is ... pressed processed turkey parts. To me that's no different from eating turkey spam.

IMO, anyway. :)

I've tried going back to real bacon but it was to salty and we wernt into the taste. Same with real hamburgers. Something about the texture of the meat.
None of our eating purcheses have really been for health so much as for taste haha.

I like Ostritch, Chicken, Turkey, Extra Lean Beef, Buffalo, & Elk. I like my eggs, but I've never been a big fan of pig.

Is shredded Pork Lean?

I eat turkey & chicken. Because you get more of it (less calories). Lets get real though, a beef burger tastes better than a turkey burger. By the way, I make the best turkey burgers.

I will be fine if I never eat a beef burger again.
Too bad there is no Turkey Steak.

All i ever eat is Turkey, Chicken or Fish. I love it. Sometimes i will have the occasional pork but i much prefer the other options. Beef i simply cant eat and havent been able to for about 3 years now without serious consequences.

Mmm turkey steak would be awesome! haha

I'm with you- I hate any sort of red meat (it's a taste thing for me) and hardly ever eat pork. My fiance will do baby back ribs once a month and I'll have a couple, but that's about it. I love lean ground turkey because you can do just about anything with it! Burgers, spaghetti, tacos... you get the idea! Boneless/skinless chicken breasts are my holy grail... I can grill up one with salt and pepper and have it with some brown rice and steamed veggies. I *heart* seafood and am always coming up with healthy new ways to prepare it... I should figure out recipes and posts them up in the recipe forum.

I gave all of it up 2 years ago, except salmon & seafood and recently have lost my taste for that too. It's not as hard as it seems.

I am trying to keep steak/beef to a few times a month. Maybe 3 pounds if not less. Turkey is rare, but I do loads of chicken and seafood/fish.

But then I have veal in the fridge now, which my mom bought it for me as a treat. Ditto that the recent lamb. I do buffalo a good bit as well.

Not a lot of game available locally, so since it is generally a treat occurance and I like it I will eat (or try) any of it without hesitation.
