Sport Night Time Cravings!!!

Sport Fitness
So i am pretty good on eating clean 5-6 times a day in moderation, and I am not one for sweet things like ice cream or candy, but what's killing me are my occasional after-dinner cravings for something ever-so-slightly sweet! These are the culprits: dry "foo foo cereal" like Capt. Crunch (ok that's really sweet), Choc Teddy Grams, and Honey Nut Cheerios. I usually eat a couple handfuls out of the box, or pour some in a small glass with milk. I don't want to have these darn cravings anymore!! What can I do to stop it? (Not buying it is the most obvious answer) or better yet, How did you over come your night-time, after-dinner sweet tooth?

As soon as you've eaten your last meal of the day, go brush your teeth. It's an instant way to cut out late-night cravings.

when is your last meal exactly? maybe you DO need to eat again, or spread meals out more evenly.

my last meal is usually about 10pm, so it curbs the night time 'binging'.

also, when do you workout? starchy/sugary carbs will spike insulin and when insulin fades, it makes a lot of people hungry. But if you're not working out in the evenings, you shouldn't be having carbs beyond veggies, which should lower insulin response, and thus lower the hunger response when it fades after 90 mins.

so, evaluate your meal timing, and nutrient timing and see if either or both is causing your munchies.

And if possible, don't keep those munchie foods around. my cereal selection right now is multibran chex, uncle sams, shredded wheat, and fiber one. ;)

Are you getting enough water? Sometimes when you think you're hungry you're just thirsty. Although Ii guess cravings are different than just being hungry. Anyway...try downing a glass or two of water after eating.

Well, I've been hitting the gym hard and leaving about 7:45-8:00pm. I eat right afterwards, but even after my meal I have a bit of a sweet tooth.
Yeah, I bought the Capt. on a whim, but I can control that too.
And brushing your teeth works to an extent. I can still be hungry with minty fresh breath. LOL Last meals are around 9pm, and lights out @11:30 ish

Ok, so you leave the gym at 8pm, and so you should be having two meals after that. PWO, and then post PWO about an hour after the PWO meal.
PWO what do you have? a whey shake? any dextrose in it?
and then post PWO meal should be whole food. cottage cheese, lean meat, egg whites...sumpin.
