Hello everyone, i am new here!

I have a summer plan to go from my current weight (228) down to around (180-190) by the end of the summer. Im a semi-athletic person, but I have a huge tendency to eat a lot when im home, and I tend to really get lazy.

The only diets I have followed religiously are the Slim Fast diets (shake for lunch and dinner for a month, then stopped) and the Southbeach/Lean Cuisine (2-3 weeks, then stopped.)

I can work out everyday starting this monday when school is over. I was thinking of doning 30 minutes of jogging in the treadmill, after that I do 30 minutes on the eliptical, and then 30 minutes for the weights and thats my daily exercise. The thing is, I don't know what to eat during my diet, so I need major help in that area!!!!!!

So if anyone can help me with my diet journey, please help me!

I think that it is ambitious (and not necessarily healthy) to lose more than approximately 1% of body weight per week.

Most diets like Weight Watchers claim to be aiming to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week.

I suspect that you are aiming to lose weight at a faster rate (depending upon when is September you want it lost by).

In my opinion it is always best to do this by healthy eating and exercise. The problem with diet shakes is that people only buy them when they are on "the diet" and they do not learn any new eating habits. They spend the whole time counting the days until the end of "the diet" when they stop having them......

There is plenty of information in the nutrition section - but nothing will guarantee to give you the kind of result I think that you are looking for.

I am starting a challenge which covers some of the aspects of nutrition which you are welcome to join. You may gain some motivation from that.
