Hello, I am a newcomer here and I was looking for some help. Now i never really liked weights and i just wanted to throw that out there. There are few things i enjoy but first i wanted to tell you the answers to the questions i had:
Age: 26
Weight: 220
Height: 6'2"
BMI: 18% (last checked i think).
I really want to drop more weight but do not know how to do it. I do not like lifting weights which is what a lot of people have been recommending. I do swim and do that sometimes. Is that a good one? i really enjoy basketball more though. I found a few things that look like it could help. I also really like bodyweight workouts.

has a couple of reviews for a diet and a basketball program i thought would be good.

is a good bodyweight workout regime that i was recommended and might be good

was another good, mostly bodyweight workout program, that looks good.
Is there anyone that has tried these or can anyone recommend anything better? Please let me know

I have heard in terms of diet that a keto diet is really good but it is only fats. I have also heard of a high carb diet that was real good which i can not remember the name of. Which would be best the keto high fat diet or the high carb diet. This is for someone who wants to lose weight and eventually get an athletic build. If you have any links to a good diet and exercise program please link them here so i can look at them
Also sorry for the wall of text.
Thank you for the help in advance and have a good day.

Firstly, the best exercise in one you enjoy, strength training using only bodyweight exercises is just fine, you do not have to lift weights, but the exercises chosen must challenge you, and not just be something you can do for endless reps. for example if pushups become easy it is better to do a harder type of pushup rather than doing hundreds of pushups. Basketball and swimming are both good forms of cardio, especially swimming if you have any injuries.

Don't buy into needing an expensive program purchased online, there are no secrets, they don't have any special knowledge that you must buy.

There are many healthy ways to eat, what is good for one person is not always great for somebody else, but in all diets calories and nutrition count.

KETO is not a high fat diet ! a properly formulated Keto diet is low in carbs (carbs come from healthy fresh vegetables) moderate protein (calculated based on your lean mass, to maintain muscle and good health). Fat is a lever, lower fat = less calories = fat loss. Keto can be maintained for years but can be difficult to adapt to.

High carb can also work, but again calories count and protein along with fat is still needed in appropriate amounts to maintain good health.

Usually the first step is detailed tracking of your current diet and exercise and looking to see where changes need to be made. Changing everything at once makes everything harder to stick to.

like ill eat pizza for example one day. mediteranean food the next. then spaghetti. the mediteranean again. then like 3 cheeseburgers

I would suggest to start a thread in the diary section and start logging your food and exercise, not only will this give you and fellow members a better idea of what your eating, you will receive a lot of support to help you keep on track with changes you make.

thats not a bad idea but im horrible at keeping up with diaries. ill try it

I found counting calories to be the best way to shred way faster than anything, hope that helps!

Hey, John B.

DISCLOSURE: I'm not here to promote or sell. I'm here to learn more about diet and weight loss and it's effect on people socially.

What seems to be the issue about having an inconsistent diet? Are you trying to lose weight? Try the 80/20 rule and get a free app like myfitnesspal. You will be able to lose weight and still enjoy your meal at the same time.

All the best,
Jebb.
