First of all, so exciting to be a part of this community. I think I just need some accountability and encouragement. I've been dieting and exercising diligently for 10 weeks now and have not lost a SINGLE pound. I'm getting to the end of my rope and want to give up every week when I get on the scale and see the same number. If nothing's going to change, I might as well eat the crap I was eating before right?!

Some stats first:
Height: 5'5.5"
Weight: 163

Last week I took pictures of everything I ate to make sure I wasn't imagining I was eating healthy, but was really eating a bunch of junk.

Here's what an average day looks like for me:
Breakfast:
3-4 oz chicken breast
10 almonds
2 cups salad greens
guacamole (single serve pack)
salsa
protein shake (if I worked out that morning)

Snack:
piece of fruit or veggie sticks with hummus

Lunch:
same as breakfast (sometimes I add beans and ground turkey instead of chicken)

Snack:
same as morning snack

Dinner:
chicken or ground turkey
grilled vegetables cooked with olive oil (love brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, etc)
steamed kale
quinoa or brown rice

Dessert (1-2 times per week) : 1/4 c coconut cream , 1tbs raw organic honey, fresh berries

I don't eat bread or gluten often because it irritates my stomach and I try to stay away from dairy products. Like I said, this is what I eat almost every day...I took pictures! It usually comes out to be around 1,800 calories and I can't figure out if it's too much, too little...ugh.

Weekly exercise:
Monday: HIIT workout 30 minutes with my roommates
Tuesday or Wednesday: 1-2 mile walk/run around my neighborhood
Thursday: HIIT workout 30 minutes with my roommates
Saturday: HIIT workout 30 minutes with my roommates
Sunday: strength, hike, stair climbing with friends, or swing dancing. It varies, but I always do some activity on Sundays.

So I feel like I'm eating healthily, exercising regularly, and nothing is changing. I took photos after 8 weeks and feel like I only noticed the TINIEST difference. I'm so discouraged and would love some advice for what I can do to possibly start getting results a little more quickly. Obviously I know weight loss and obtaining a fit body does not happen overnight, but after two and a half months?! Not one pound lost?! HELP.

I'm mortified to be posting a picture of my body, but after 8 weeks, this was the only change I noticed. View attachment 24511View attachment 24512

Welcome to the forum.
I can certainly see a difference.
Have you taken measurements? I suspect that it may well be worth your while to take a number of measurements - not trust just to the scales to show the difference.

Take a look at how many calories you are consuming during the day, it doesn't matter if the food is healthy or not, if you're not burning the excess calories then they will be stored as fat, you want to be at a calorie deficit to lose fat. Once you manage that correctly you should be losing about 1 pound a week.

I'm doing the same thing right now, cardio and calorie deficit is the key to success, unfortunately it leads to feeling hungry a lot of the time, once you have reached your target weight bring the calories back up to sustain that weight but keep the food high in protein/low in sugary and starchy foods.

As for cardio exercise if you don't like running and prefer to workout at home do things like kettle bell swings, squats, hill climbers and burpees, each set must be trained to failure, how many reps is not so important, don't over train, keep sessions short, around the 30/45 min mark. Good luck.

just two changes needed:
remove brown rice and quinoa from dinner, you can have it at lunch. just have the meat and veg.
implement a time restriction of at least 12 hours from last meal at night(the dessert) till first meal in the morning. this means eating nothing for a 12 hour period. you will be sleeping most of the time so its an easy goal and it does wonders for your metabolism, hormones and weight loss. try this for ten days.
feel free to ask any other questions.

Hey Renee,

Nice to meet you.

You seem to be doing a great job by what you are eating. Have you ever tried a body transformation cleanse? The only reason I ask is because I was in the same boat a couple years back and on the recommendation of a Chek Practitioner I tried it. I have always been rather skeptical about cleanses and starving the body but I tried it and the results were pretty impressive. I lost 12lbs on my fist cleanse and then I lost a further 10lbs on the second one.

Each one lasted for 10 days and it was hard but the results were great. I lost stubborn weight and reset my metabolism.

With the first two, I kept the weight off as I was more conscious about what I ate and also the transformation helped break some of my food addiction. However, my old habits did creep back in and I put on a few lbs. Moving forward, I now do 2 cleanses a year and follow an 80/20 rule whereby 80% of what I eat is healthy and the 20% are foods that I love but can't eat every day!

I follow a diet plan similar to yours now but a bit stricter.

Hope this helps.
