Newcomer after Advice

Hi
I'm new here and am after a bit of advice and guidance.
Firstly, I am a 34 year old male, and am 5ft 8in tall. About 4 years ago I topped the scales at 20st 4lbs (286lbs).
Over the next two and a half years I lost 6 and a half stone (94lbs) and got myself down to around 13st 11lbs ish.

I did this on a diet of weight watchers soup for lunch, which was around 99 calories and then a 500 calorie dinner in the evening, monday to Friday. I then ate and drank what I wanted on the weekend.

I've always played rugby and trained twice a week and I would go to the gym 4 nights a week during this time.

Then just over 2 years ago I met my partner and the diet slipped hugely. She has 2 children and eating with as a family became tough in terms of keeping up with that variety of diet. My weight went up to around 14st 4lbs and I was happy with that. A good solid 6st weight loss and I felt comfotable enough. I woudl make sure i adjusted my diet accordingly to keep at that figure.
As a side note, I have always fluctuated massively, as an example, i could gain 11lbs on a weekend and lose it all by the following friday.

This lasted for about a year, and I have started to put weight on again. I realised that my diet was no good for me, and am trying to eat a more balanced diet. I regulary try to eat breakfast, and have a health lunch and dinner, my focus now on what i'm eating. oats, youghurt and fruit for breakfast. Eggs or a salad for lunch and then envariably fish/ lean meat for dinner with vegtables.
But i keep putting the weight on. From February this year I have put on a stone and a half.
The issue i have, is that my weekends are still not great. Because i have always had blow outs I am struggling to stop them, and now I am eating more, well i'm just ballooning.

Does anyone have any tips for stopping the sugar cravings on the weekend?!

Sorry for the long winded message

Your previous diet was a little low in calories for an active man your size so it is to be expected that you would regain much of that weight. It sounds like you are making good food choices now except your weekend binge ?

Are you still playing rugby and going to the gym ?
What are your meal sizes like ? weight loss has a lot to do with meal size (calories) than the actual food eaten
Is some of the blowout happening after your games when celebrating/commiserating with team mates who may also have poor diet choices after the game ?

What sort of foods do you eat during your blowouts ? Finding alternatives to old favourites can help.

On a side note: what position do you play ? my position was always either hooker or prop :D
