Sport Newbies questions on diet

Hi all:

Iam from Southern part of India. My age is 35 and I weigh 143 pounds with height of 5'7" (approximately). My structure is something like a very lean legs and medium decent upper body with again a thin long arms :).

Offlate my attention has turned down to fitness & I would like to highlight that I did GYM during my early ages of 20-25, but not at regular intervals

My overall aim is to get rid of potbelly & to kick start this initiative, I have started to do push ups of 5 sets with 45 reps (7 rep, 8 rep, 9 rep, 10 rep, 10 rep) for a continuous 4 -5 days and rest during weekends.

I have stopped taking alcohol and cigarette as a part of this initiative. Read through many websites and found that first its very important to take care of the food that we consume. I really do not have any idea of body fat, calories, protein intakes.

Any rope to catch up and move forward from here
