Newbie/Need Tip

Hi Everyone,
My name is Jeremy and I am a 21 year old nursing student. I have been trying to lose weight for a while and I can't really seem to make much progress. I am about 210 lbs and 6 foot 1. I have big "love handles" and it's hard to find clothes that fit me properly because of my shape. I need some tips on how to start shedding some of this weight including diet, exercise, ect. My diet isn't awful, but I also don't eat a whole lot which is probably another issue. School is so hectic that I am just too tired to cook sometimes and eat on the go. Exercise is in the same boat as my diet. I have always wanted to go to the gym as well but I find it pretty intimidating so any tips in that respect would be appreciated as well.
