Hello all,

I am a 30 year old female who has gained weight since finishing school. I am fed up with feeling flabby and want my old body back from when I "had time to be healthy." I no longer want to make excuses for myself and say that I am too busy to make it to the gym or say that I have worked hard and deserve something bad for me. I know that I am not unhealthy, but I feel myself slipping into bad habits and want to put a stop to them now while I am young before it is too late.

I currently exercise about 3-4 days a week and eat pretty healthily: oatmeal for breakfast, salad or meat and vegetables for lunch and dinner and a protein bar as a snack. However, I do have a sweet tooth and will regularly buy a cookie.
I plan to begin running 5x weekly and cut out processed sugar for the next three months except for one cheat day a week.

Looking for a buddy who will remind me of why I am doing this when my self control is waning.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum :)

take a look around the diary section and begin your own for the most support.

I have been trying to start running too but i find myself having no motivation. If you have any I am listening! Haha
Slipping seems to be common for the both of us. I will eat well all day then blow it at the end of the night by eating chips or chocolate or junk my body does not need.
Anyway I wish you luck with your journey :)

Thanks, Jessica. It is good that you know when your weak times are. Sometimes, if I have a craving I tell myself to wait 15 minutes, and I am often surprised that I forget about the craving or it will be better after that amount of time. You can distract yourself with something in that amount of time.

As far as running goes, I have just always liked running. Listening to music or going to a trail that you like helps!
