Erm ive been trying to lose weight for about 3 years now , last year i had a motivation boost and managed to lose About 28 pounds but that didnt last very long, and managed to put it back on:mad:

Anyway i weigh in at about 238 (around 17stone):( Im not overly all unhappy with my weight, but i have health issues and im very much so over weight for my age, My aim is to lose about 4/5 stone around 58 pounds if my calculations are correct. But i signed up here to get some inspiration maybe find that motivation and feel good about myself like i did a year ago, one of my main issues with dieting is finding the right things to eat cause so many people say you should eat like this or exercise this much its rather confusing:(, i jus need abit of friendly advice and an idea how to go about this sensibly:D xxxxx

welcome Laura, :) i'm sure you will find the support here that you have been needing and looking for. do your health issues limit you to certain foods, is that why your having trouble? the main thing is to eliminate as much refined sugar/useless carbs as possible and also saturated fats such as you would find in chips, candies, and cookies. but of course that is pretty obvious just not easy to do right? if your not already, also begin incorporating high protein foods into your diet like tuna, nuts, and egg whites. you also want to make sure your consuming plenty of water, about 64 ounces a day. if you dont like water, try some crystal light or fruit2o which you can get at the grocery store.

if you have any questions about the site or need help, feel free to send a private message. in the meantime enjoy your stay and have fun finding your way around. :D

Hi! Glad you found us!

your really going to want to find your own way of eating that you can maintain for life. here is an example...

Healthy breakfast choices are...nutrional cerial (no kid ceral) fruit, oatmeal, whole wheat toast, eggs, ect. Not pancakes, waffles, or danishes

healthy lunch choices are..soups (although watch out for fat, I recommend progresso) salads, lean cusines (or other brand) maybe even some chicken breast and veggies, or subway sub (7gram of fat or less sub)

Healthy dinners are of course, chicken or turkey (best meats) lots of veggies and a potatoe.

of course for snacks try to get in fruits or veggies, but if you are craving "junk" , those 100 calorie packs are great! Oh, and sugar free gum is great for those moods when you think your hungry but arn't. The chewing is a big help!

Loosing weight really comes down to cal's in vs cal's out. Eat less, move more.

I personally stick to a 1200 cal plan and its working great for me!
