New year, old me!

Hello!

Ive been chubby all my life but I recently gained 40lbs in 2 months for reasons idk. I have stretch marks all over and im only 22!! but the most this experience has taught me is that people, regardless of your relationship to them, can be very hurtful. Im working on developing a better relationship with my body, a better relationship with food, and a better relationship with how I process these comments about me.

May 2016 I decided that 2017 will be my year. I went through the next half of 2016 working other areas of my life. I got a new job, I started seeking treatment for depression (which Ive been dealing with untreated for 7 years!!!), I joined a gym! This is it. The year I transform. The year I will be IN BLOOM.

Saying it now sounds sooo cliche with the whole "new year, new me" but I really want to get back to the old 130lbs and happy me. Because even at my thinnest at 120, I was suicidal. Because even at my heaviest at 170, my depression has never been this is under control.

I hope to make new friends, give and offer support here! Lets all bloom together!

Forget what happened last year. You have got a new opportunity this new year. Start afresh. Include healthy food in your diet but slowly so that you don't feel overwhelmed all of a sudden.

Hey,
I really don't believe in new year resolution, we all tend to leave that half way.
But i have decided like you, that this year i am going to give it all, I am about the same as you and i am graduating college this year.
I want to look good, feel good by the time i leave college and step into the real world.
I hope that we all succeed.

Hi Lara, I feel your plan is wise and well-thought-out! It is great that you try to fix the real issues in your life first, as the relationship with food may be only the consequence of unsolved or unaccepted situations. I also do not believe in New Year resolutions, as New Days starts every morning. But what I recommend is to give the proper ATTENTION to anything you want to change. As it is said in the story of the two wolves. That's why I started to write a blog with DAILY posts about my progress for instance. Good luck!

Wow Lara! so inspirational, I love your passion and I can tell your commitment is 100% and set in stone. I believe in you and believe this is the year that you make this happen. One of my favorite quotes is, "Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen."

It sounds to me as if you have made the firm decision that this is the year you achieve all of your goals and put the past truly behind you and bloom into the best possible version of yourself!
