New weight loss methods

Who can advise some new weight loss medthods? I'm summing up all I've tried and want to try something new to shed some pounds before my sister's wedding.
 
There's nothing new under the sun. All these prepackaged ideas and products are simply worn out reiterations of the same basic principles. This industry is guilty of continually churning the same information over and over again in new and shinier packages in order to make a buck off the unsuspecting masses who are looking for the "cutting edge" stuff.

Try and count calories in everything you eat. Set yourself a limit on how much calories per day you should eat. And exercise a lot. It you get hungry drink a lot of water so you won’t feel so hungry, and be careful that you have your daily intake of minerals/vitamins in food that you eat. It is as “simple” as that.

Unless they're very small to begin with or doing some sort of fast. But as general advice... ya, I'd say that's pretty bad assuming that's what you intended.
