Ok, so I'm a 26 year old paramedic who needs to lose a few pounds. I was once 5'10 and about 175 pounds in high school. Now I'm 5'10 and about 235. I really need to lose some weight. But here's the thing, I'm a picky eater. I don't like a lot of vegetables, and the ones I do are the ones I shouldn't eat (corn, peas, lima beans, etc). I also haven't found a fruit yet that I like to eat by itself. And I hate salads (see vegetables I like and lettuce ain't one of them). How can I lose weight by changing my diet when I don't like a lot of this stuff?

Peas are some of the best things you can eat, as well as beans. Nothing wrong with corn either. Everything else you can just make lower fat and lower calorie choices.

Definitely nothing wrong with corn peas or beans. Im on the weight watchers plan and we are encouraged to eat as much veggies as we like except potatoes and you are still allowed to eat them but just portion control e.g. 1 a day and make it around the size of a bar of soap. Im not a big veggie eater either and I have found the best way to get some veggies in is to eat soup or hide them in a meal that has some kind of sauces. Funny enough I have started to be able to eat more veggies since then and I like the taste a bit more. Good luck with it.
