Hi everyone!!

I'm new to this program and it took me a few days to get used to all the weighing and cooking. I think I'm getting the hang of it but now I'm facing a different type of issue. Usually when I PMS, I tend to eat alot more during the day because I constantly feel like I need to. And I'm starting to PMS and I'm already starting to sneak a little tiny bit of food that I'm definitely NOT supposed to be doing here and there. Especially when I'm the one who takes care of cooking for my family...husband, daughter (4 years old) & son (1 year old). I have to take a taste to taste what I'm preparing to make sure I'm on track with their food. Does anyone else have ever have this problem with PMS? What should/can I do? Also, my period also seems to be later than usual since I started this diet (nope, definitely not preggo :) ).

I also noticed on the Cohen's manual that I received that under the Meat category, it doesn't list any type of pork. Does that mean it's not allowed under this plan? And what about other types of veggies. I'm Chinese American and there are lots of different veggies and chinese melons that I'm not sure if I can use. (Geez, it's been soooo hard with this "no rice/noodles" since I started since I still have to cook it for my family)

Are there any other Asians on this forum/diet? Need tips on handling the yummy dimsum that I'm missing and recipes that you may know of...;)

I do want to pat myself on the back for being able to drive through McDonald's to pick up food for my family without ordering anything for myself or nibbling on any of their food. :D (I love fast food joints!!!)

Thanks!!
Mildred

Hi and welcome

Hi Mildred:)

No pork allowed you only have the foods that are on plan, same with veg. And you have to weigh everything. I have 2 young children I don't taste their food it hasn't been a probem get your husband to taste test etc.

I have just gone through my pms and yes i suffer from this each month the sugar cravings is especially bad so last week I chewed gum and made sure i drank 3-4liters of water. Try and eat your favourite fruit from the list eg mango or peaches or something savoury if that is your weakness, try some of the recipes the other lovely people from this forum have shared with us all their are some fantastic recipes.

This a fantastic diet - I am going into my 3rd week and and I can see the results already so STICK with IT.:p

All the best

Sam:)

Thanks Sam!

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the advice ;) I just started my monthly today and I was reading other posts about the weight loss stopping for the week so I'm trying to stick to Cohen's 100%. It was really exciting to see the -5 pounds on the scale since starting and it hasn't been 1 week. WOW! ;) I will try not to weigh myself at least for another 1-2 weeks even though it mentions not to weigh yourself but once a month.

Good luck with everything and happy holidays to everyone! :)

Hi Mildred

I believe that chromium can control sugar cravings and that you can get it from the supermarket or pharmacy in the vitamin aisle (and yes it is allowed). You can also make sure that the multivit you are taking has it in it.
