New to the forum..need some input! PLEASE!

I am a 23 year old mother of two. Since the birth of my last and final child, my body just looks AWFUL. For the last month or so I have been dedicated to getting back in shape, and hopefully even better shape then I was in before my babies.

So...

I am 5'4 and right now I weigh about 168 lbs  . I want to get down to 120-130 lbs :) . I am eating lots of protein and have cut down on my carb and sugar intake by quite a bit. Mainly my diet consists of fresh fruit, fish/shrimp, tuna, chicken, a lean cuisine pizza on occasion, beef jerky, and now and then some veggies. My main problem with the veggies is, the only ones I like are not that great for you. I love potatoes, corn, and green beans. Anything else, I have to force myself to eat, or hate so badly I just can't eat them. I do still eat breads, but they are always whole wheat or multi-grain. I also do use mayo in my tuna, but I use the duke’s brand that has little to no preservatives, and I use it VERY sparingly. I no longer drink soda. I drink nothing BUT water.

As far as my work out plan (which just started 2 weeks ago)..
I go to the gym and use the treadmill 5 days a week. I set my incline on 5, and for the first five minutes my speed is at 3.0, for the next 20 minutes my incline remains the same, but I increase my speed to 4.3. I fluctuate between a fast pace walk and a jog. The last five minutes I repeat the first five again. I also use the elliptical or stair stepper for 5 minutes each some days to begin my workout, and finish with the treadmill for 20. I also take my kids for a walk in their wagon 3 days a week for 30 minute walks.

My main question is, by doing this will I lose weight and tone up my legs and butt? This is my main focus point right now, because I hate those the most. Next will be the abs and the arms. I appreciate ANY input or advice...

Oh also, how long does it take most people to notice a difference? Thanks :)

It'll take a while to notice a difference, cuz if it just happened overnight no one would be fat or skinny. Do HIIT, it works a lot better than regular cardio.

I realize your main goal is your legs and arms, but a full bodyworkout routine along with your new healthy diet and cardio would do great. Try getting your cardio up to a steady jog, and only walk when warming up. DO NOT FORGET TO STRETCH! <~ really important incase you missed the capital letters :) And Biggie is right, HIIT works very well, it's pretty intense but would work great substituted in with your current cardio. There is another section dedicated to HIIT, explaining it in detail. Stick to it!
