I'm 42, 280lbs, Female, and I'll mention that I'm a cook (I mention this because I'm on my feet all day and do some heavy lifting).

I have just started going to the gym. My workout that I've been doing is:

Everyday : - 30 minute treadmill (speed of 2.7, with an incline of 0 for 2 min, then goes to 7 for 2 mins, and alternates for 30 mins. The speed stays the same).
- Eliptical for 20 mins (still trying to figure out what settings to use)
- Rowing machine 10 mins

Sundays, Tuesdays, Fridays: - I use the weight lifting machines to work on my arms and legs. 45 lbs for my arms, 65 lbs for my legs. I do 3 sets of 8 reps, while resting for a minute in between for each machine. This usually takes about 30 mins.

On the days that I lift, I do the weights first, then my cardio.

(And yes, I am also eating healthy as well).

Is this okay for a beginner workout?

your cardio is fine, however to evaluate your lifting you have not provided enough information. I need a list of exercises work out how balanced your routine is, an unbalanced routine leads to muscle imbalances which then lead to injury. What sort of warmup are you doing before lifting ? is it a generic cardio warmup or is it a muscle specific warmup for each lift ?

the weights used mean very little without context, how difficult are the weights used? are you struggling with poor form to complete a set, is it hard to complete a set but are still maintaining good form? are you comfortably completing each set ? for example if i was to say I completed a bench press set at 60 kg (132 lb) it might sound like a good workout but if you put in into context then it is only a warmup weight at 50% of what I actually lift.
