New To Exercising!

Heylo everyone, I was really hoping for some advice about a few things. I'm totally new to exercising and am looking to get fit and to most importantly lose fat! I'm not a fan of exercise, but I do enjoy walking. What I've been thinking of doing is going on a hour/hour and a half long walk a day plus using a skipping rope/jump rope a few times a week and pairing that with situps/stomach crunches etc. Will that be enough to lose weight? Also I've been reading about HIIT, it seems like a fantastic way to lose weight and improve fitness but I don't enjoy running at all, and don't really have the guts to go out and do exercise in front of people! So I was thinking would using a skipping rope work aswell? Skipping to a high intensity for a minute, and then slowly for another minute etc. for 10 minutes?

I just need to figure a way to lose weight, burn fat, and tone up. Any advice or help anyone could give me would be extremely appreciated! :)

HIIT is the best way to go. Walking for 90mins will help, but its not ideal.
The good thing about HIIT is that even if you dont like running, it only take up 20mins.

Eatting a healthy diet is also important. maybe do some research into easy ways of reducing calories, i.e. switching to whole grain breads and cutting out carbs in the evenings.

I'm also kind of new to working out especially when it comes to lifting weights. Can anybody advise about riding a bike to the gym (approx 10 miles) then playing some racquetball for an hour and a half, then riding back 10 miles??

Any replies would be appreciated.

I wouldn't suggest High Intensive Interval Training for a beginner in fitness >_<"
it's too much, its more geared to those who are at par around intermediate through advanced stages.

My suggestion to you is, begin to setup a diet, look around the forum for diet tips. Diet is the main reason people stay fit and become fit. Obesity is caused by overconsumption of food , which is too much calories taken, and not enough calories are burned.

go to this website

&& figure out what your daily caloric needs are, know that, if you eat less than what your body requires in day, you will lose weight.
The idea with exercise is, it keeps your body toned. IMO, exercise in itself, burns calories.

Cardiovascular training is useful because it helps to increase stamina and the heart :) and body in general. && Since you say that you enjoy running, I hope that you continue to do so, 3-4 times a week. for 1 hour :) If you can, try to jog. not as fast, but slow in the beginning.

~~~ i will continue to help you once you understand what I've said above ^^
&& welcome to the world of Fitness. Your body will thankyou for a lifetime :)
