New to everything GOOD for my body!

Well, July 10th of this year, I was wrestling with a buddy and snapped my Femur in 2! Needless to say it's been a long hard battle to get back on my feet, litterally! Today was my first day to go an entire day w/o a crutch! No horrible lean to my step, nothing, it's GREAT!

About 3 weeks ago I joined the local gym to help me work out the leg (Physical Therapist said it would help alot) So I've been ridding the stationary like crazy. I'm up to 6 Miles (about 30 minutes), I've been using the calf(sp) machine as well as the basic leg press. I can only press like 55Lb with each leg.

Well thats my intro, I'll be posting like crazy, hope ya'll can keep up!

welcome :)

good, you have motive- you have determination, you ahve trials. It is fantasic to see someone who really needs to take all this stuff seriously far too many people want to know the tao of fitness and then they run away (walk quickly gasping for air)

Keep us up to date in the diary or before after sections

provided your doctor/therapist approves it, jack up the poundage on the leg press, and start looking into squats. heavy, load-bearing movements will cause the body to increase bone density, in addition to packing on lean mass.

55lbs is not much weight at all for leg press. how much do you weigh? you should be able to leg press your body weight easily (barring any complications from bad joints, broken bones, etc). think about it...your legs carry your body weight around all day...every time you stand up, that's a leg press movement (or squat move, either way, mostly working the quads).
