New shoes

When I started my running 6 weeks ago I had no mone to go ou and get a good pair of trainners so I dug my old pair and have managed to run 15miles a week without crippling myself (too much).

yesterday I spent 4 hours trudging around different "sports" stores looking for a suitable low budget pair of trainners, but was hampered by the fact that there was little choice in my size (i'm a Uk size 12) and none of the shops offered any real support or infermation.

I was just woundering if anyone else has trouble finding the perfect shoe? Would I better avoiding the shopes and just order off the net?

I have a real problem finding a proper fitting shoe due to my high in-step (neutral pronation). I finally found the perfect shoe an Asics gel 1100. I actually got it on the internet reasonably priced at Foot Locker $49.99.
The good thing about the Asics line is they offer different types of shoes depending on the pronation and width of your foot. You get a much better fit. Good luck.

I ended up buying a pair of asics gel something-or-rather they fit well and didn't cost the earth cause they were on sale. I have no idea if they are right for my foot shape (I think I have flat feet) but they've gotta be better than my old ones right?

I think you'll be happy with them. I know for myslef it is so hard running in bad shoes. Comfort is everything!

I use Asics Gel Trabuco - a sort of water resistant running shoe suitable for both cross country and town. My first ever running shoes - but I love 'em :)
