New Runner needs advice

I've recently started running and find that all of my joints ache ALOT. I workout regularly (elliptical trainer for cardio about 45 minutes a day + 30-45 minutes of weights/stretching). I've always had a bad knee and a tendency for a ciatic nerve to flare up in my back. Should I just give up on the running thing altogether or push through? I've been living off of epsom salt soaks and advil for the past two weeks and still can't run very well, but when I can run well, I love it! Help!

Well... I think when you run sir, try adn ease up on the running part. Check your shoes for comfortable support and feels good for your body. I recommend taking one a day vitamins for men or whichever because its good to keep your joints healthy and all the nutrients you need to have.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post - any vitamins that you can suggest? I'm female - 5'4" and 110 lbs - in pretty good shape, I thought, and I just bought some great running shoes so I'm not sure why I'm as sore as I am in my joints (not my muscles at all). I'm hoping that I can find a way to work through it because when it's fairly pain-free I really enjoy the runs. Thanks again!
