Hello! My name is Melanie. I am of course here because I need to lose weight. I am currently 270. I need to lose 110 pounds to get to my goal, and healthy weight which is 160. I am 5'11...

Hmm.. thats about it. I need some support, and diet tips.. etc. I have very low will power.

Feel free to start a diary in the diary section to record your victories and your challenges... as well as giving us the opportinity to get to know you better - and vice versa...

youll not find a more enouraging or supportive bunch of folks than the ones in this forum... :D

If you don't have one, might i also suggest that you get an online food journal and honestly record everything that you eat.. even before you start cuttting back - it gives you an idea of where your calories are currently coming from - and will give you an idea of where you need to cut back... There are hundreds out there, but two of my personal favorites are www.fitday.com and www.sparkpeople.com... both contain a wide range of foods...

Poke around the forums, join up with some of the clubs that interest you -- relax, kick your feet up for a bit and enjoy yourself
 
Thank you for the welcome! And the links. I was actually looking for one, but I couldn't find one that was free!!

oh, and change the 270..I weighed myself and its actually 268.2..lol, not much of a difference!
 
a loss is a loss... good for you :)

remember to weigh yourself at the same time during regular intervals (it's suggested that you don't weigh every day, but rather weekly to see the changes)
 
Welcome. Hey, anytime you lose weight you are closer to your goal. Congrats. Get a plan going that works for you and be diligent and patient. You can do it!
