New on the forum and trying some new things

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum. I'm 21 turning 22 soon. In the last 2 years I've lost 20kg while counting calories. I still have 5 to go. I now want to stop counting and just focus on portion control and eating a little better.

I've also decided I want to quit eating sweets (I have a very bad sweet tooth) and replace them with fruit/dried fruit, flavoured yoghurt and 85% dark chocolate (the 30g single serve bars). I've tried this several times and failed. But I want to try again.

Any opinions/support ect is welcome.

Congrats on your weight loss. Shouldn't be too long from now that you fulfill the other part of that. That's good to get into the habit of portion control, moderation, as it should be a lifestyle alter to prevent the yo-yo dieting effect. Thomas Edison also failed thousands of times (or found ways that didn't work rather), but he got it right eventually. I think this time you will as well. Welcome aboard!

Thanks so much. :) I hope I get it right too. Letting go of sweets is really hard for me. But I need to remind myself its only temporary. I'm going to try doing it for quite a few months. I will also gradually reduce the amount of sugar in my tea and coffee. Hopefully later I will be able to re-introduce it without my taste buds going crazy and me eating a truck load of candy. I will try and abstain from it for a good 10 months.
