Hi im John and I am 50 years old living in New Zealand . I have had problems most of my life with weight. I like others here really grew up only knowing the diet of excess and carbs. I wish i could explain away my ignorance but to be honest, its all me. So i have tried giving up certain foods over the years, even though i smoked cigarettes to add to the pile of what not to do. I have never been able to control my weight through my meager attempts of dieting and the like .. not once. I guess that is why my ignorance stayed with me for such a long time. It protected me from actually actively participating in weight loss if that makes sense. So I reached 44 and started having some health problems involving my heart and skin. Yeah it was as you would expect, a real shock to me on all levels and some i really didn't know about. Depression eventually settled in and this is something that i have experienced before "breakup when i was younger" so things were not good. At the time i was partially working while looking after my elderly mother, well all that changed when my heart problem got worse. I couldn't work anymore because my heart would go into rapid heart rates randomly, even when completely at rest while sleeping. It was like having a heart attack and over 3 years of not being diagnosed soundly by any medical doctor, this was my life. I still was very overweight and now good barely move at times due to being breathless, dizzy and generally dull when my heartbeat would increase to over 190 bpm for sometimes hours. If you have ever been in a dark place in your life where there was no escape, no hope then you will probably understand what im talking about. Well after 3 or so years of this and hospitalizations then back home and repeat i had a lucky break. A visiting Surgeon on one of the days i was in hospital came across my notes "seriously just by happenstance " and he was a cardiologists and surgeon. Almost instantly he knew what was wrong with me and came to examine and then proceeded to tell me that i suffered from a condition known as Supraventricular Tachycardia and that he could fix it because he performs the surgery himself. I was amazed that one person knew this yet over the years and countless doctors that i have seen, not one came to this conclusion. I think this bypasses my diet ignorance by a long shot for those doctors concerned. Wow this is getting to long.. To cut a long story short, i had the surgery while being awake. Dr Heaven "yes that is his true name" used key hole surgery to feed a lazer from my groin area up towards my heart to burn off certain nerves around the heart muscles to misfire and cause this frenzy heart rate. After the surgery i no longer suffered from ST. Things for me seemed to be looking up, i started working again but then sadly my mom passed away in 2016 and i am sure there are those here reading this that know the pain and suffering of losing a loved one. It is an experience that is unique and profound. I can only say that after her passing and the grief process that you have to go through, i am a different person now. Well i survived my grief and i started addressing things that i never had done before. I stopped smoking and i started the keto diet while running distance. For the first time i had success in weight loss and also felt great with energy levels through the roof. After 6 months of doing this, things were going great and then i got my foot injury. Turns out that i cracked my 5th metatarsal due to the distances i was running and also i was looking into running with minimalist running shoes. Hey i didnt say my stupid was fixed. Anyhow im now off running for a while to allow my foot to heal so i now am after a way of keeping the weight off without strenuous exercise. Im thinking about taking up swimming but food wise i am a bit worried about putting it all back on again as i have been off keto now for a while and i have found that i have kept the weight off because of my excercise. I know i can turn back to keto "the hard way for me" but.. i have come across this red tea detox program that seems to be making some really interesting effects and possibly turning dieting on its head. If you have survived my ramblings up to now, may i ask for your advise expertise of those in the know for this product.. With thanks in advance.. here is the link.. link removed
