New Member Needs to be Motivated

Hey all! I need your help. I've been on a fitness program since August 1st and I'm not seeing very much progress. I think the problem is that I haven't really been dilligent about following my fitness plan. I need some motivation and accountability. HELP!

I've started a podcast that is intended to keep me focussed but any other pointers are greatly appreciated.

welcome we'll help all we can!

I'm in the same boat. My problem is that I will be a fitness and diet fanatic, just die-hard about it for about a couple weeks. But then I just don't taper off my workouts or dieting, I will just stop completely. I just became a member today for the same reason. I need motivation. So, when I get some feedback from other members, I'll make sure to share them with you. Hopefully we can help eachother fond something that works for us.

sometimes you have to use external motivators if the willpower isn't there. Make a bet with your coworkers, tell someone that you really hate to let down that you're wanting to get in shape.

What do you want me to do, come over there and kick you in the pants? If you workout and eat right, youll stop craving junk. It takes about 2 weeks.

Try the Spartan Health Regime.

I was in exactly the same boat til I bought this bad boy. The best thing is that it's written in such a motivating style, and if you re-read it every so often you will never drop off.

Me and some other Spartans have some of our own forums set up as well, so you can always come to us for motivation!!!

I make a note of my weight each week - it is my own responsibilty to make sure it goes in the right direction. Its amazing how much your motivation increases when you see your progress over time written down.

Whenever I feel like the gym is too much of a drag, I treat it the same way as I treat quitting cigarettes. one day at a time, if I can get through this workout, the next one will be easier.

Stick with it man, the rewards will be worth it and motivation will come easily...

Aside from getting some help, you have to take personal responsibility for your own actions. I used to bust my butt for everyone else and my job and neglect my health and fitness. I may not have liked my job...but I did it, because I had to, otherwise I woulkd be looking for a new job. I decided to treat my health and fitness like a necesity instead of an option. I needed help to get there from a Dr, but it worked.

There are tonnes of things people ude to keep motivated just think "why am i doing this?" think deeper than "i want to get a good body" think why you want to get a good body! Thats what I did and I got right down tot the source of my craving to get a good body and thats where I became motivated. Use quotes use a training diary.
