New member in need of help!

Hi all.
I'm looking for some exercises that can help me smooth out my incredibly pear shaped figure, and in particular my very upper thighs. I have really odd proportions, with a 24 inch waist and 32 inch bust but 37/38 inch hips!!! And whenever I gain weight it ONLY ever goes to my upper thighs. I've been doing thigh presses 3-5x a week for 2 months at my gym but honestly I haven't seen any difference. Any advice?
thanks!

The places you see the fat go is where women in general store most of their fat. The thigh presses are going to give you thunder thighs, but doing them isn't going to burn away the fat you want. Try doing some type of cardio/hi intensity workout if you want and dieting.

Work your whole body and eat well and you will begin to lose weight.

You cant remove fat from just one part of your body.

Good luck.

thanks very much. I was talking to a personal trainer and he said thigh presses would, in long term, make my thighs more bulky anyway. He said opt for jogging or cardio instead. I have little to no experience in these fields, does this make sense to anyone else?

Hi

Make sure you get yourself a good set of running shoes. Don't under estimate the importance of this!

Invest in a good heart rate monitor. They cost about $70 - 90. In order to measure your maximum heart rate, minus your age from 222. Try and work at between 60% and 80% of your MHR.

Interval training is the best way start burning fat. It is a steep curve, your body adjust very quickly. Treadmills are constant, the earth contains many challanges and will condition your body better.

It hurts to start with, try picking up a sport where you need to run a lot in short bursts like soccer (after about 6 weeks of going for a jog three time a week or so mind you).

But your diet is the biggest factor. Read through nutrition 101 and learn as much as you can (good luck I feel like I am earning another degree at the min).

Eat good, wholesome meals, watch out for those around you it helps if they are supportive, ask them to be!

Good luck.

Tom
