New member from Virginia

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forums. I've been sitting behind a desk for six years and am out of shape. I just purchased a Nordictrack elliptical to help myself get back into shape. I have a few questions about the elliptical and would appreciate anyone who couldn't help or point me in the right direction.
 
In fairness when just getting started the priorities are get moving and find stuff you enjoy.
Starting out with a load of technical detail etc. will just send you barking mad and possibly confuse you into injuring yourself.
Cross trainers are good for exercising the whole body especially heart and lungs. There is no single activity that is perfect to do on it's own indefinitely but at the start this is a good one to get you into it.
Try the different programs to see what you enjoy, have music or TV to keep your mind occupied if starting to find it a drag, which many do in the early days due to the low intensity you have to stick to.
