New Life Wanted PLEASE !!! Need a Buddy !!!

:D Hi, newbie here. I am a 49 year old newly divorced :) female , a new non-smoker (just celebrated my 6 month quit - Yeah me!!) and would love to add "new skinny person" to the list but I need some help and motivation please!! :p

I need to lose over 100 pounds ...*sigh* , so I have my work cut out for me. You want excuses? I've got a bazillion of them. Time for me to step up to the plate and do something about it and quit the blame game! (Wow, I can't believe I just said that!! WOOO HOOO!)

Is there ANYBODY out there who would be willing to be my weight loss buddy, to support each other, offer motivation (>>>with a side dish of humor preferably<<<) and who is willing to share in our trials and tribulations along the way??? It's going to take me a long time so I will need someone for the long haul, so you need to know that going in. ;) I'm not asking you to marry me but you get the jist...lol!

PLEASE HELP !!!

Hello!

Hello there! You sound really excited - thats really encouraging! I'm sure you'll reach your goal with your great attitude!!! I can't wait to hear how things are going.

LOL Jennifer - that is too funny but I can identify with you! Looking forward to the Goddess part and getting use to the single part. All in good time I suppose. I'll be sure to let y'all know when you can hear the sizzle!

Hey Jordache! (Thats what I call my niece sometimes, her name is Jordyn Ashley :) )
I am upbeat because I am just starting on this journey and it's something I have wanted for a very long time. I'm sure down the road I will be complaining and bellyaching every now and then but I pray that I will have enough stamina and will power to stick it out until the end. I also know however that there will come a point when I will feel terrific and know that all my hard work and effort was not in vain! I need to modify my behavior, change my eating habits and make exercise a part of my daily routine. Big shoes to fill but I am lacing them up now! I will keep you posted for sure!!

HAVE A SUPER DAY EVERYONE!!

HI there and welcome to the forum!

Nice to have you on board...keep us posted on how it's going and we will try and help as best we can:)

Hello SweetAnnie

I am going on 41 years old single mother and I have quite smoking now for one and a half years. I try to keep active by walking and eating carefully, as I am not big on exercise. I believe that you have a lot of will power and you can do this.

I wish you the best of luck and remember if you crave that cigarette try eating a carrot.

Love your upbeat optimism!

I just got on this website tonight and my objective is to find a buddy too!

I'm 56 and 100 lbs overweight. At 37 I weighed 114 which was a little too thin, but I think a good goal for me would be 130 lbs. I am divorced for 3 years and have been separated for 4 years. That was my third marriage and I have had long periods of singleness in the past, so I'm very comfortable with it -- don't think I'll go out of my way to change that aspect of my life.

Last week I saw photo of myself and was horrified. The features of my face have disappeared somewhere along the way. I really don't look like that in the mirror!

I am going to use Weight Watchers because it is a healthy real-food focus. Also, I've been successful on it before. Also, I have a Curves membership that I expect to start using after paying out for a year. I have a Gazelle on my back porch and as soon as the weather gets a little warmer I plan to use it for cardio-vascular. I live in a nice neighborhood that is conducive to long walks with the dog also.

I just need some moral support at this point. And a little accountability. I know how to eat healthy, but have gotten out of the habit. I work long hours and it is so easy to stop by for fast food instead of cooking.

Right now I feel like a beached whale, but still have memories of being active, energetic and proud of my body. I am determined to live that way again!

Here' the kicker! I'm VERY lazy. So I need someone to report to daily so that I have no excuses to sit in front of the TV.

What do you think? Are you up for it?

Planning to be "Trying Harder"!

hi sweet annie, i want a buddie like you so that we can together try and beat the weight off. i have lost 35 pounds but with the 35 pounds i lost all my motivation as well and now the last 20-30 pounds are like 200-300 pounds for me. so would u make me ur buddy and work on some system with me?

Hello there and welcome

I will pm you and I would be honored to be your weight loss buddy. I can give you tips on what has helped me lose wieght and what has not. I will be more than happy to support you with your 100lbs. challenge and Conga Rats on quiting smoking too! That in itself is not an easy thing to do.

I started with 150 pounds to lose

I started out really big... and I TOTALLY blame my ex husband! He also made my hair curly! Well, my hair stayed curly but Most of the weight is gone now.
There were times along the way where I felt like it would never happen, or where I had another baby and had to start over again.. but It did happen and it will happen for you too.

Here's my LOT TO LOSE tips based on my own experience.
Never throw away your biggest pants! They will be a source of inspiration as you try them on and they fall off.. Or a source of comedy the day you and your new boyfriend each get into one leg....
Tell yourself you can eat whatever you want... then think about what you really want.. you'd be surprised how much WHAT you want will change.. I never thought I'd see the day I actually disliked french fries...but I do..
Anyway, allowing myself the freedom to eat whatever I want and making making choices without basing them on what I SHOULDN"T have, put the whole weight loss thing in a new light for me..You see, it changed from feeling somehow punished, to feeling in control and empowered. And I think , for me, not having those feelings of power and control over my own being, were the very things that piled the weight on in the first place.

At this point, I'm just trying to lose a few more pounds from places I don't want them... but not so long ago, they were hiding under 135 other pounds..

And you know.. I thought I couldn't do it... So if any part of you tries to tell you you can't? Tell it where to go! If anyone tries to make you feel like you can't...lose them.. just think of it as losing over 100lbs in one day!
