Hello! I am new here.

I am looking to lose about 15 pounds. I began drinking too much alcohol too regularly. That also led to me eating more frequently because I felt hungrier. I stopped drinking yesterday. I'm not overweight, but I'm the heaviest I've been. So... I'm hoping I can fix it.

Hey SingIt and welcome to the forum :) No more alcohol can make a big difference as long as you replace it with water or unsweetened tea, not soda or juice. Wishing you the best of luck and I hope you´ll check in regularly to report your success.

welcome to the club. i only drink at bars, never at home, so i'm now hopefully close to at least the middle of a long stretch. i can go weeks without having a beer, but up until now it's been my choice. be aware that your body doesn't change overnight, though. do not be surprised if you don't see any positive change for a week or more. it's frustrating, but that's the way it works. being fairly close to a goal weight also often leads to negative reinforcement when a loss doesn't happen fast enough.

think about a change rather than a diet. if you diet, you will eventually give it up... regain the weight and repeat the cycle. as you age, if you don't adopt a sustainable plan, you will more than likely fall into that mode, the catch being, every time you repeat the cycle, it gets more difficult.
