Hello everybody!
To start out, I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. It has taken a huge toll on my self-esteem lately and I'm not sure how to find help, so I thought I'd try the forum out and see what I can do with the support of others going through the same struggle. I struggle with binging and purging and it is a cycle that I want to break free from. I want to be at a healthy weight, but I am currently at my heaviest. I don't have family support in this so I hope by coming onto this forum I can get the support and honesty that I need. I am 5'6 and 200lbs. It doesn't seem like a lot to some people, but I am overweight. I am a full-time college student and though I have limited free time, I'm looking to spend that free time trying to better myself so that I may be healthy again. Any ideas for a good start to this journey?
Thank you all!

Hello, there! Welcome to the site - and good for you, for making the decision to start right now to
better myself so that I may be healthy again
.
I guess we all - and you too - know that the beginning of the answer is eating healthily and getting some exercise. Can I start by putting in my standard plug for lots of fruit and veg? (Especially veg! :D Carrots! Broccoli! Yay!)
And I hear you about having limited time and probably spending lots of your day (as a student) hunched over a desk/keyboard - but it's really, really a good idea to try to work in some exercise - even if it's just walking/running to the library and back!

Hey SB welcome!

I think you can find the help and support you look for here, you will find friendly helpful people who know what its like for you.
Any ideas for a good start to this journey?
Yes, I suggest you start by starting a diary on the Weight Loss Diary page (https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/ ). That way you can tell us more about yourself and your goals, and you will get more attention there.
It has taken a huge toll on my self-esteem lately
I can sure relate to that. The good news is once you get started on a good plan you will start feeling better and better about yourself pretty quickly. I sure it will happen.

You are wise to be doing this now, I wish I had started in college, I'd be a lot better off today.

I am looking forward to following your progress!

on the first entry of your diary, you need to explain your living situation. college student, so still live at home? do you have any control over your food choices? do you food shop for yourself? this is something you need to get control of.

Hey Rad and welcome! Do you have any insights in what makes you binge? Undereating, feeling deprived, boredom, stress, anxiety..? Knowing why you do things can be so helpful when you're trying to change a behavior.
