Hi everyone.

As you can see, I'm new. Starting summer 2005 I got a job, my first one so far, and although it doesn't make me move a whole lot I started loosing weight pretty quick. I weighed in at 130kilos when I started my job, and I'm not at 97 kilos. Darn Christmas put me back up 2 kilos :D

Strange thing is, I used to be pretty active, but had to quit sports because of the traininghours didn't work out with my working hours :confused: Anyway, I'm down from a size 42 to size 36 now. Those sizes might not make a whole lot of sense to all of you though.

Ehm... what more to say... I'm a guy btw, and I recently got back to the gym as well... and I'm feeling really emberrased right now :D

My goal is to work off this here belly and backfat before summer, and to regain some muscles. I joined because I have been kinda emberrased about loosing weight, but I'm now feeling kinda proud about it as well as crap about how my bellyskin is too loose and I still have some kilos of fat that needs to go... Guess I just want to get my bragging and nagging out, as well as maybe pick up a tip or two? :)

Must admit I haven't been very good lately, but I used to walk an hour and a half each day, fast pace. Then when I started with the gym, I changed it to walking every day except the days I go to the gym (3 times a week). I cut off candy and only drink water except from some milk for breakfast and juice for lunch. I don't go out of my way to eat propperly though, but it's worked so far.

To sum it up:
Me - new! :)
Want to: Loose a bit more of the belly, and tighten it up (guess I need surgery for that, and I can't afford it :()
Would like someone to say "thadda boy! way to loose 'em kilos!" without having to act suprised and say I don't try to loose weight because I'm embarrased :eek:
Hope I can be of some value to you guys as well, thoguh I doubt it... :(

And as I'm about to press "submit" I really hope I haven't gone to the wrong forum, 'cus I kinda forgot to read a lot before registering :eek: :eek: here goes...

Went from 286
To 213
A loss of 73 pounds since summer... yey!
I think I prefer counting the weight I've lost in pounds, 'cus it sounds a whole lot more.

Glad to have you aboard! Looks like you will bring a scense of humor to the forum anyhow! lol Good job on your weight loss!

I dotn know what kind of diet plan your on, but if your not already, you really should start keeping track of your cals. Loosing weight breaks down to cals in vs. cals out. thats it.

You could start a diary/journal, it will help you keep track of excersize and calories and help us keep track of you ;)

Thank you, thank you kindly :) I know this is of little importance, but guess I should add that English is a foreign language to me, so although I try to do my best, spelling mistakes are prone to happen. :(

The diary thing doesn't sound like a bad idea! Gotta figure out how many cals I take inn, but how do I know how much I burn? I sweat a lot, but guess that doesn't mean I'm burning blubber :p

Oh, and I'm on no diet plan... :eek:

One question though, what do you do with belly skin? Is ther any way to make it...contract? (this is where my English skills make it difficult for me ;))

(Ought to take it easy with the smilies, ey?)
 
well, i'm not knowlegable about such things, but I really do'nt think besides sugery that there is anything you can do about loose skin??

Why are you not on any plan? Are you just trying to make healthier choices, or have you just not figured out what you want to do yet??

I'm not on any plan, 'cus I just eat normally but cut out eating in between meals, cut out all candylike stuff and cut out soda. I eat breakfast, normally two slices of bread and something on them, lunch which consists of whatever I fancy in the cafeteria (some a sandwhich usually), and dinner. Dinner can be so many things, and all I really do is not eat more then what it takes not to be hungry. I don't make myself suffer in any way, and I still do have myself a few beers here and there, and generally I put little thought into what I eat other than avoiding fastfood.

I'm born, raised and fed excessivly in Norway :cool:

You do what you want hun, but to loose weight you need to start paying more attention to what you eat. Cafe food can be very high in cals, so can a beer here or there.

Do what you want though, its your call..Good luck :)

I know :(

And you saying so makes me want a beer less, so thanks! :) Strangely enough, I'm under the influence of a beer or two (read: 8, at least) right now :eek:

I try to make excuses to myself, like it's now hollidays, I'm supposed to drink! and somesuch. But in retrospective I know it's all lies and bull*erhem*. Yet I continue to drink... I'm weak I guess. :( Quite young thoug, which is yet another excuse I tell myself, but all the more motivation not too really. I should loose the wieght while I'm still young, and not wait untill I'm pulling too many years.

Please tell me to stay focused, nobody else does... Nobody else really knows I want to loose the wieght, so... :eek: please tell me that I'm not being focused, that I should not have the occational beer or 8, and that I should pay more attention to what I eat. I've lost 33 kilos so far, but I want to loose more, and I can't do that unless I'm dedicated enough, and I fear my dedication is about to fall apart :(
 
G'day and welcome, 33 kg is execelent so far, but you need to cut back on those beers :)
 
welcome!! i also use fitday and it has really helped getting my calories in/calories out in tact. also, in terms of the alcohol, it is obviously not good for you. however, i enjoy it as well so i'll give you how i have managed so far...now, i am a 'slow loser' but i've learned by all these folks that slow is much better than none and i hit a LONG plateau (talking 8 mo.long) and finally started moving again. anyways, i look at the beer as others may look at donuts :), gotta count them ALL, it is a lot of calories, it has helped me cut down as well but if you count them, it helps. you also DO need a plan. there are a lot of people here that can help you withthat, but you may lose some weight from 'cutting out crap' but then you need a 'lifestyle change' in order to truly keep it off and be healthy. the other problem with alcohol is that they are empty calories so usually people tend to eat on top of it. Count it all. Read what you ate/drank. You'll see it isn't worth every one, but you could have 1 here and there....
