New here today. Day 5 of the diet

hi. I am a typical yo yo dieter. I started again last Saturday on my own version of slimfast. I weighed 20st 9.6 last week and I have a hell of a long way to go. But I'm determined this time. My brother has a brain tumour and set me a task in his will of get down to healthy BMi or run a marathon. I am not a runner. Never will be. So let's try for the bmi.

You say you're not a runner.. I ran a 5k race at 16 stone a few years ago and you'd be surprised at how easy it can be if you follow a programme like Coach to 5k... I would find that much easier than BMI chasing..BMI is unrealistic and not always accurate of where you are at with your body. For example, my friend plays rugby and is 18 stone.. His BMI says he is morbidly obese but he is in the best physical condition of anyone I know..

Not pushing the running but it's a shame to scrap the idea without thinking about it :)
