Hello, I'm new here! My name is Kristina and I'm 14.

I'm very embarassed with my weight and have been trying to get it on track for years. I've been apart of several programs, Weight Watchers seemed to be best. I lost 18 lbs in 2 weeks while with them, but I wasn't following their program, they were more of an inspiration. Plus, I wasn't dieting right.

I have Crohns disease which is one of the main reasons I'm overweight. I try to exercise but it makes my stomach set, as well as eating fresh veggies. Now they've put me on steriods to get it under control, and those make me eat and eat as well as blow up like a ballon.

But I'm ready to start over, I'm determined to get a new look before school starts again (4 weeks). I'll be reading through the threads and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hi Kristina and welcome...

Given your age, which is fine here, I just want to ask you to make sure that your parents are aware of what you are doing, and that you have discussed your new eating plan with your doctor.

I hate it when i sound all adult like (I'm actuallynice sometimes) but at your age your body is still growing, you want to make sure that you are getting the proper nutrients for yourself.

Now is the time for you to learn healthy eating habits, so you will have them for the rest of your life (and don't end up like me :)

Exercise for weight loss, and i'm not sure how muchy ou are trying to lose, could be as simple as going for a walk on a regular basis.

Look forward to reading more from you... feel free to start a diary to record your successess and your challenges.. and ask any questions you have..

Welcome to the forum Kristina. I'll be stopping in from time to time to see how your doing, so don't be to surprised if you see me around. Good Luck to you on this new found journey. Developing healthy eating habits at a young age is one of the best things you could ever do for yourself. Trust me. I've been in your shoes. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life, and I'm almost eighteen years old now. It took me that long to get serious enough about dieting to actually stick with it. Don't let that be you. We're lucky, we're still young, and have plenty of life ahead of us, lets make the best of it. We can do it.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, my parents do know I'm on a diet, my mom and me used to go to the gym together and are going to start up again. Actually, I checked the BMI and it says I have to loose 100 lbs. :( So I think I'll have to do a bit more than walking. ;) I don't know how I let myself get like this. But then again, I've always been more heavy set and I've been having a lot of stress. Plus, I suffer from depression.

What do you guys think should be a good goal for me to try and reach within 4 weeks?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

I think your goal for 4 weeks should be 8-10 pounds. So you'd be down 10 pounds by time school starts! Yeah!

Good luck and we're rootin' for you!
