Hi everyone. This is my first day here. Boy I have a lot of reading to do.
I have been dieting since the 15th of August. Honestly though until the last 2 weeks I had not been trying very hard.
About 2 years ago I was 143 and worked out 5 days a week. Then I started feeling bad and slowly slacked off and sat back and watched the weight jump back on. I am still not sure what happened to me. Nothing new in my lifestyle other than a lack of motivation. Maybe I was bored? But I am back and hoping to be stronger this time.
I am down about 25 pounds from my high weight. That has taken about 6 months of not really trying. I cut out soda pop but was still eating the same and not consuming straight water.
I purchased an elliptical trainer and have done that 4/7 days so far. I have been doing around 36-38 minutes a day. It used to be an hour so I still have a ways to go. I picked up a Winsor Pilates dvd today also and I am going to try to add it daily. Oh and I just started on drinking a gallon of water a day. This is my 2nd day and I almost feel like all I am getting done is pouring water LOL But I figure the extra steps back and forth to the frig make it even more worth the benefits.
I am a mom of 4 beautiful childern between 4 and 13. They keep me busy but there is still a lot I do not do with them that I used to before I gained all this weight.
I can't say that I am following any certain diet. I just try to change little things and once I adjust to that I add something else. I have been at 202 for about a month now so that is when I decided to add the excersize and more water. We eat quit a few veggies but I am lacking in fruits. I love fruit so I am not sure why I lack in eating them but that is something I will focus on over the next month.
I am not really concerned about how fast it comes off though it would be nice to look decent in a bathing suit this year ;)
Well now that I have went on and on and on I am going to sign off and get started on this Pilates video. Wish me luck. I can't wait to get to know everyone.
Best wishes in your goals!!:D

Welcome to the forum! I am sure you will find a lot of support here. You will probably find it useful to start a diary so that people can check in with you and provide support through it. It is also helpful to join the challenges. I did those back to back starting just a few days after I joined. Also, a good way to get to know people is by reading their diaries and posting in there. There are a lot of people on here and sometimes it takes people awhile to get around to the newbies' diaries. :)

We started from about the same weight. I was at 225 when I joined at the end of October. You are a little under me now though. I am at about 207, so I will have to try to catch up to you! ;)

Great job on the weight you have lost so far! Good luck on losing more!

Thanks Hypo Hippo
And I forgot to state that the picture of me is from the end of November. I was about 212 there.
