New/ have questions

I'm new at this fitness thing. Actually, I know quite a bit about fitness, having read alot, but have not exercised a great deal. Would like to start now, though.
My problem: I'm 29, not overweight (5' 3.5", 118 lbs). However, because I spent the past ten years having children (7) without taking in proper nutrition or vitamins, my bones are pretty weak. My knees and ankles hurt at the slightest provocation. I want to build bone and lower my body fat percentage, but am not sure which exercises will not hurt my knees and joints further. Any help, suggestions will be appreciated.

29 is still pretty young, have you had a doctor try to diagnose what might be causing your knee and ankle pain? I would be afraid to push it too much and make matters worse.

welcome! I'm new as well :) It's a great place. I agree that I would consult a doctor to see what you need to be careful of. You should probably be consuming a certain amount of calcium and vitamins. If your joints hurt swimming might be the best option because it puts less stress on your system.
