Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm new to trying to lose weight. I'm a 34 yr old truck driver and I'm tired of not liking what I see in the mirror. I vowed to change it once and for all. I've started which I'm told is the hardest part (well, they lied lol) keeping going is much harder. So I just try to keep putting "one foot in front of the other" which is what I chant to myself when I walk/jog (not to full jogging yet)

I'm currently 5' 11", 378.4 lbs and I'd like to be 260 lbs. Any advice would be fantastic

I have cut my calories down to 1,000-1,500 a day.

I do 30 min of "exercise" a day. (Generally 15min of walking and 15 of retention cable/squats/sit-ups/and my 15lb weights)

I'll start a diary. Other than that. Have a good day

Welcome to the forum, @Ericwbyers! I think you're on the right track with starting a diary! It's easier to give advice if we know a bit more information, so usually once you start making a few posts, people will start to chime in. It might also be helpful for you to look though some other people's diaries to see what has worked for them and to get some ideas. How are you doing on that amount of calories per day? How are you tracking what you eat?

I'm using the Samsung health app to monitor my calories burned and intake per day. It works pretty well.

As far as how I am doing with 1,000-1,500 a day. I feel full, I didn't at first but now that I've gotten used to it it's not bad. The gallon of water a day helps a lot.

I have been feeling more hungry lately, but that might be because I ran out of fruit. Need to get to a Walmart...not easy for a trucker.

Fruit is good try to find some. the Walmart near us has a lot of trucks that park overnight next to it, maybe you can find one with parking.

Good luck.

Welcome mate and good luck!

Lots of people here have been in your position and successfully come out the other side so it’s very very doable. The key is to believe in yourself and just keep going.

I’ve always found the hard part is blocking out the negative nellies in your own head but once you work out how to do that you’re home free!
