Sport New guy could need some help (Nutrition in general)

Sport Fitness
Hi everyone

I jumped over here from the bodybuilding section, because i didnt quite get the answers i were looking for when it came to nutrition
Original Post: http://training.fitness.com/body-building/basically-need-someone-tell-me-what-do-getting-fit-53537.html

To sum up, im new to this, really dont know anything solid, and have some extra percent fat i would like to take off.
I'm 19 years old, currently working 1-3 times a week, giving me alot of free time.
I work out 1-2 times a day, something i think ive figured out now.

I did the BMR calc at the nutrition 101 post and got around; 3050
To be honest, that was the only part i Really understood

As of now my daily plan on my days off, is this:

Jogging (Really light cardio, couple of miles)
Breakfast (Usually a couple slices of bread, with some cooked ham and maybe some cheese, and a glass milk)
Snack (Normally a apple or something like that)
Workout/weights (Around noon)
Snack (Again some fruit, or some crispbread with something)
Dinner (Whatever my mom cooks, nothing too unhealty i think)
>Snack (Some days)
Late supper (About the same as breakfast)

Exactly how much protein, fat and carbs i eat, i havent figured out yet. Since i havent been thinking of this for so long, and that i eat various things every day.

What i would like to know is;
Cardio before or After breakfast?
what TO eat, and maybe more important, what NOT to eat.
And also WHEN to eat and how much (considering pre/post-workout, and the meals between)
Also, how late is it appropriate to eat, before going to bed?

If you have read this far, i want to thank you for having the patience to read my post.
Also, please tell me if theres anything ive gotten wrong.(e.g. what forum i choosed ect.)

Thanks in advance
-Eric

I found that myfitnesspal.com or another online calorie counting service comes in handy for this. It sounds like your day is a bit carb-heavy though, without going into what exactly constitutes a "snack", as the term can be a bit flexible. Your breakfast in particular sounds a bit like it's a carbohydrate spike.

Not sure about cardio before/after breakfast. I've heard that cardio before you get any carbohydrates in your body forces you to burn fat stores, but I've not really done the research, and as I've found it makes me lightheaded and cranky, I've stopped doing it.

But seriously, check out an online calorie counter, and since you yourself have professed having "lots of free time" do the homework and record what it is you eat, and how much. "Eyeballing" tends to get people in lots of trouble, particularly with calorie dense foods
