Weight-Loss New Cravings?

The first thing I have noticed over the past few weeks is that I have been craving water instead of soda. Now I always keep a bottle of water with me at all times, because I find I am thirsty for water. Before this lifestyle change, I used to drink soda all the time and didn’t even think twice about drinking water. The only way I would know I needed water was when I got headaches from dehydration.

The second thing I noticed is that I am craving fruits and veggies instead of candy. I actually wanted to treat myself and ate a Resses’ peanut butter cup, but halfway through, I felt sick. So, instead, I gave the other half to my fiancée and decided the next time I wanted something sweet, I would grab an orange or apple instead.

So my question to you guys is… have you noticed that you’re not craving the junk food that you had once craved before (and replacing it with better choices instead)?

Oh, and today I went to Walmart with my sisters to do a little shopping. We stopped by the candy isle, so my sister could pick out some chocolate, and I was faced with a wall of candy. I took a big sniff of it all and decided it wasn't for me.

Don't get me wrong, it all smelled good, but I didn't have the need to reach out and grab 5 bags of gummy bears. I thought that was weird too (the not wanting candy part).

I am thinking my body likes the healthier choices I been making :)

The only craving that I have frequently, and that I can't act on, even in moderation, is the craving NOT to eat. I don't know what's up with that. I look at food, even stuff I love to eat, and just don't want to eat. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat a proper meal.

Other cravings, no matter what it is, I usually just go for. If I want chocolate, I'll have a piece. If I want coke, I'll have a sip out of my husband's glass. I work at least one 'treat' into my calorie plan every day. So I don't have any real cravings. And fortunately I can have just one piece of chocolate now, instead of having to eat the full bar like I used to.

That said, I had a total craving for yogurth recently, something I didn't have in a long time. Nothing in it, just plain yogurth. Had a full pot, about 300 calories. Just left out my two snacks, and was fine. But now I got a taste of it, I want more....time to revamp my diet I guess! *lol*

I totally understand what you're going through.. Never really had a sweet tooth but would usually snack on crackers, crisps, etc.. except today I wanted a snack, but I didnt want cake, or crisps instead I reached for an apple! >.< what's wrong with me?

About the soda thing, I dont really drink soda, never did, but I noticed I need light coke to swallow my vitamin pills. Vitamin pills are disgusting! ^^;;;

I guess some of us have a sweet tooth and others prefer fatty food? The worst would be to crave both ...!

i crave broccoli. i normally eat it 6 or 7 times a week because my dinner does not feel complete without it. such a weird craving, i know.

i also crave those cheddar quakes, the mini rice cakes. more so during my time of the monthy cause they're salty.

and water.

and starburst...since i'd rather have those over chocolate or dessert anyday! i've been seeing a lot of commercials for starburst lately, which is pretty much ruining my life! haha
