A new trail as been opened up to the public for mountain biking near where i live.
It was supposed to be for beginners to intermidiate.(sp)
Its 32k long and i thought i`d give it a go.
Its not for beginners it`s hell i`ve just got back from a 2 hour ride and i feel like death(i was actually sick in my mouth at one point lol).
Am i a wuss? heres a couple of pics

Imagine how hard it would have been if you hadn’t kept stopping to take pictures!
 
It does not look extremely technical from the pictures. If that is the case, perhaps "beginner / intermediate" refers to the technical aspect.

32km of hills is definitely beyond beginner from a fitness point of view.
 
I would kill for something like that over here.

Same thing happens on hiking trails. I've got a book that profiles hiking trails in the mountains close to Calgary. A few of us went out last month on a hike that they said was "moderate" and that most people could do it in 2.5 hours.

Well, the elevation climb was 8000 ft and it was steep. Mountain goats would have had trouble on some of the "trails". On many parts of the hike, the trails simply vanished. One part had a cliff with 4" sticking out and that's what we used. We were gripping onto the mountainside with our lives. I kept thinking "I need mountain climbing equipment for this freaking "hike"." Add an 80 pound backpack on your back, and that's just freaking insane.

I don't believe anything I read in this guide anymore. It took us 5 hours. And we're not novices. I've been hiking in the mountains for 30 years. If they think this "hike" was moderate, they're nuts. It was nothing less than hardcore, and absolutely dangerous without proper mountain climbing equipment.
 
Don't dismiss it so easily, you don't have to go all the way, give yourself a time limit, brake it down to fast and slow etc. There are a lot of people who would kill for something like this. Go for it mate, it's worth it

baby if i was a sheep i would be ON YOU like white on rice

on a paper plate

in a snowstorm

with a glass of milk

and some cottage cheese
 
That is absolutely beautiful. If I had a trail like that I'd bike there all the time just so I can be around so much nature.
 
Definitely beginner level in technical skill requirements, but some of those hills look intermediate in steepness and 32K length is for intermediates to advanced. I'd say it would rank as intermediate in my area.
