Nervous wreck

OK, so my husband just left with our 3 yr old son and I'm a nervous wreck.

He is taking him on his first trip to the deer lease this weekend. It's good for Gage (my son) b/c he will be with his dad, his PawPaw, his uncle and 2 cousins, and get to play around in the woods, get dirty, ride 4 wheelers, fish, all that fun guy stuff.

The only times Gage has been away from me overnight, he has been at my parents' house, not out in the woods 2 hours away. I was raised in the country as a child, but now live in a suburban area, so my son isn't really accustomed to running around in the woods and all.

Gage looked so cute in his little boots and camo this morning - he was running around saying "I'm a hunter man!"

My dh is a really protective dad, and there won't be any drinking, it's just still very nerve wracking.

OK, thanks for letting an overprotective mommy ramble.

Yes, thank God he does, and it gets a decent signal out there too.
I called this evening and they are having a blast, so I feel better about that. Now, it just seems so wierd around here with just me and our youngest (who's asleep).

ENJOY it! Those moments are so far and few between!

It is rare, and the quiet is nice, but then I get scared being in the house alone at night. (I'm such a scaredy cat)

We live in a big house that was built in the early 1920s. I can't hear from the front to the back if someone is at the door, etc which freaks me out. To top that off, we replaced all 28 windows recently and haven't put the security system sensors onto the new ones yet, so the alarm isn't on. We live in a good neighborhood, in a good town, and my neighbor is a really big cop, but I'm a scaredy cat.

What can I say, I feel safe with my man around, you know?

It's morning, now, and I feel better. They should be coming home later this evening. I'm going to try and work out this morning.

Hmmm...I saw something like this on "I Shouldn't Be Alive"...

Just kidding, a little anxiety is normal for anyone with maternal instincts...

Just take this time to relax and recouperate for the awesome stories you'll hear about how your three year old son choked out a bear and ate it.
