Need to lose a massive amount of weight

Hi,

My name is Daniele. Over the past 3 years I have gained over 100 lbs. My dad got cancer and died and I became very depressed. I am self employed and do most work on the computer so I am usually sitting. I play the Sims 2 a lot also, giving me even more time to sit. I am 5.7" and my highest weight was 317:eek: pounds. I am down to 292.5 and my short term goal weight is 275. My long term goal is 165 pounds. I am an emotional eater and whenever I am sad or stressed I find it difficult to stay in control. I am a full time student and have no health insurance. I have been drinking a lot of V8 fusion because I don't like fruits & veggies a lot and that seems to be helping. I am also using metamucil for fiber, I notice it makes me fuller. I just turned 26 and am afraid that I will never be healthy again if I don't do something now. I am afraid to do to galleries with my husband and even to the movies, I am really uncomfortable with this extra weight. If anyone has any advice, please help me!

daniele hey there. well first of all your not alone. we all have things that seem to pile up. mine was back surgeries and depression and and...... Just take it one day at a time..... also you can start a diary page. Its seems odd at first but then its a place to vent and meet alot of the others......
 
you've made an important step ... and you've had some successes.. you can do this... :)

the fiber is good, but you'd probably be better off getting it from your diet...

the V-8 fusion? looking at nutritional data for it, real fruit and vegetables would be better -and would give you the fiber your body needs without getting it from a bottle.

You might want to get yourself a food journal- like www.fitday.com - and be really honest with yourself in it -to see what you are eating and where those calories are coming from... I'm sure we can help yuo find some fruits and veggies that will appeal to you... :)

And hillbillylee's right - a diary here is a great way to get out some thoughts in your head -

Hey welcome aboard. It sounds like a rough 3 years. You and I have a lot in common--I do some online gaming myself and probably spend a bit too much time on the computer. I also hate fruits and veggies. My best advice is you didn't get to this point in a week and you won't get rid of things in a week, but it is something you can succeed in and I think a place like this with support is a good start. Good luck, you can do it!
 
Welcome aboard and good luck with your weight goals. I love to play computer games too. I think that is one of the reasons why I gained weight. I also sit all day at work in front of a computer. Like you, I used to play Sims 2 but got bored with it.

Welcome and good luck on reaching your goals! You can do it if you set your mind to it! I know about sitting on my big bottom too much, just because I read sooooo much. I'd rather sit around reading a really good romance novel than think about walking, or burning calories. :D

Keep fighting the battle! You will win! I strongly suggest setting goals. Set them high come up with a game plan and whatever you do use your results as feedback. Without the feedback you can get lost very easliy!!!:)
 
Dont worry Daniele. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Once you come up with a plan, just stick to it and you will shed the pounds really quickly. Make sure you also keep eating food with high fiber too.
