Need to get in shape in limited time

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong thread, but this seems to be the most appropriate place to put it. If no feel free to move it to where it should be... anyways here goes...

As the title of my thread suggests, I have about 5 to 5 and a half months to get into shape. There is an event coming up in my life at that time that I would love to be in the best shape of my life for. So I’ve decided now is the time to finally get off my butt and do something about it. I am what I consider to be skinny fat, ha. Basically meaning that I am in the right body weight for someone my height, but there is little to no muscle on my body so I find that to be misleading. Now a little about myself.

I am 26 years old and I am 6 foot 2 and weigh in at 187.2 pounds. According to my scale I have a body fat percentage of 19.9% and a BMI of 23.7. As you will be able to see from the picture I attatched below I have no abs or muscle build of any kind. What I would like/am hoping is that by the time this event comes up in about 5 and a half months is that I can get some abs and have some good muscle definition. I don’t need to be huge, as that is not possible in the amount of time. But I would like to gain as much muscle and definition and bulk in the time I have. What can I expect?

I am going to start my work outs today with this plan:

Each day I am going to start with about 15 minutes of working the punching bag/boxing. That will be followed by 30 to 45 minutes on my elliptical. Each day I will also be doing an ab workout that takes about 15 minutes to complete. That is the stuff I plan on doing each day. This is what I plan on doing on a rotating basis. Day 1 Chest and Back. Day 2 Plyometrics. Day 3 Shoulders and Arms. Day 4 Legs and Back. And Day 5 is sort of a rest day/stretching day. These workouts take about an hour each and are widely based off of P90X. After 30 days I will change up this routine a little bit to not get in a rut.

I will also be taking supplements and the like. Whey protein in the morning, after my workout and maybe before bed as well. Creatine pills 30 to 45 minutes before the muscle building part of my work out. Glutamine pills after my workout. And Also a recovery formula after my workout.

The hard part for me is going to be the diet. I really don’t know the best foods to eat and how often to eat in order to lose the extra weight and gain the muscle as proficiently as possible. Can anyone help me out here? And any tips or tricks on how to make this all possible? Any suggestions on anything at all in order to help me get the results I want in my time frame would be greatly appreciated. I am completely open to any ideas this community has. Thanks
