Need to gain weight

Hello all,
I'm asian, athletic, slim, 6'2", 160lbs, 20 yr old.

I wanted to gain weight, a lot of weight so I can begin working out in summer since busy during school time. During the days while I study, I do push up and pull up in my room; and the bench press is collecting dust in my living room.
I'm active in sport, I spends 6-10hrs per week playing basketball and tennis.

I'm wondering what is a good protein shake recommend for daily intake (not for working out). Usually I never eat any breakfast, so I'm thinking of taking it in the morning so it would fill me up until lunch and also at night. I'm a big eater and craving for junk food but I never manage to gain any weight. Oh, I'm lactose intolerance, I found out the hard way.

Mistakes
Not eating breakfast and not lifting weights.

Things to eat to increase weight for lactose intolerants.
Carbs - Pasta, Rice, Potatoes,white bread
Protein - steak, ground beef, chicken, nuts, maybe a soy protein shake (most protein shakes have some kind of lactose component) stay away from casein and whey. Take some BCAAs, basic chain amino acids
Healthy Fats - Fish Oil, nuts, olive oil

There are more, but these are just easier to find for me.


If you need something in the morning to hold you until lunch time then get some nuts and fruits. A healthy protein carb combination that can help you hold hunger for a longer time.


You need to stimulate your muscles by doing some kind of strength training. To gain weight fast you need to eat consistently. Eat 800 plus calories every 3 hours, you get 3200 calories in 12 hours.

Fast Foods to gain weight fast and are not burgers. People believe that some of these are healthy but they are wrong, there are some killer salads out there.

Quiznos any big or regular sandwitch or the chicken salads 1000+ calories. (The whole thing)
Burritos (any of the big ones, full of rice, beans and meat)
Wendy's Taco salad
Subway Footlongs and pizza. The pizza is like 240 calories for 100grams (the personal pizza weights like 400 grams)
Chinese food

Is better to gain weight eating high calorie sandwitches and salads than eating chips and candy.

Make sure you eat after any exercise that you do.

I really recommend that you start strength training because it helps to gain weight healthy (muscle).
