So I recently got hired after being unemployed for a year with a company and I will be mostly doing desk work, few walking around moments. So yay and all but it also means my workout plan has to be changed. I am trying to lose 17-20 lbs. I am F, 24yrs, currently weigh 125lbs and 5'3. I used to weigh 108 last year before I got really sick. Lately I have been doing three times a week weights and on separate days three times a week cardio with one rest during the week. Well I will no longer be able to accomodate that and also, because this is a very inactive job (I will sit for pretty much 8-10 hours a day answering phones and typing), I need to overhaul my workout to continue to lose weight at the rate I desire. Currently, because I have not been working or need to be anywhere, I can walk and jog around the house chasing the dog or pretending like I left something downstairs to keep active along with more workouts. I was wondering, has anyone tried 2-3 days a week of strict cardio, 3-4 days a week of weights and HIIT right after the weights and 1 day a week of rest? I don't want to separate the weights and cardio now that I know I will be sitting all day. I also cannot space them out from a morning workout and an afternoon/evening workout because I will be taking the bus to and from and won't have the time to do such a thing. I was thinking about getting all my workouts in the early AM before work and if I get a chance to be active at work, then so be it but if not, then at least my workouts are done and I just need to work on my calorie control and clean eating (I cook most of my meals as long as time permits). So any feedback, advice or success stories with such a plan?
