Need some serious help!!!

OK so I really need some help. I want to lose about 40 pounds and I am tired of going back and forth. I think I have battled with it long enough and I have had plenty of time to think about it and have been trying very hard to get the mental part down. I have struggled my whole life with my weight and I have been 40 pounds lighter, I am just an emotional eater and hit a really bad spot in my life and gained all the weight. I am 27 with no children but have notcied a difference in my metabolism.

Does anyone out there have a plan they have been using that has worked??? Simplicity is best as I lack time, money and a very picky eater. Also, any at home workout advice??? I would love to walk my dogs more during the week but by the time I get home it's too dark. I know people's bodies take to diff things but I am willing to try just about anything at this point. I was a big pill taker and am trying to avoid going down that road this time. Any good cleansing plans?? Please advise and thank you in advance!!

You're looking for a special, simple fix to a very complex problem.

You're also looking at it from the wrong angle; that being short term.

Start developing a long term mindset. Understand the permanency of it all. Until you do that, all your efforts regardless of how applied, will lead to short term results.

Have you read the stickies?

I am not looking for a quick fix. I am getting past the quick fix by avoiding diet pills like I usually do and understanding that it is a lifestyle change. By simplicity I mean meals that are not too time consuming in putting together and without too many ingrediants b/c I am so picky and I need at home workouts as I am not able to afford a gym membership at the moment. I have heard cleansings are good to start a new program but I am so clueless on weight loss that I just pretty much listen to what people tell me. I just need someone to ppoint me towards the right direction.

You can change from a poor direction to another poor direction is my point.

Pills to cleanses being my case in point.

Healthy, balanced, calorically controlled diet coupled with balanced exercise as discussed in the stickies is the 'secret.'

Mix this with consistency and you have success.

Stupidly simplistic, I understand. But it's what works.

Prepare foods in advance.

When I'm rushed or short on time, I only succeed b/c I pre-plan and prepare my foods in advance.

For instance, I'll cook a bunch of chicken breasts and weigh them out and baggy them for the fridge. I'll precook rice and pasta. I'll measure out my nuts and separate them in baggies. I'll measure and separate veggies.

Being proactive is where it's at.

and I need at home workouts as I am not able to afford a gym membership at the moment.

Fair enough.

What equipment do you have, if any?

Workout Routines & Exercises - New iPod Videos! is a decent site worth checking out.

I have heard cleansings are good to start a new program but I am so clueless on weight loss that I just pretty much listen to what people tell me.

My theory is most people don't know what they're talking about when it comes to weight loss. They simply follow the masses and the masses themselves are followers following the same bad advice handed down from corrupt marketers and professionals.

As stated previously, the stickies are an excellent resource that will surely clear up much of your confusions. Any further questions beyond them will be answered by myself or any other experienced members. Also, after reading the stickies, you'll be able to ask more precise questions which will elicit more direct answers.

I'd start with this thread:

I just need someone to ppoint me towards the right direction.

The stickies are the right direction for you.
