Need some answers about my training. :D

Hi, I'm 15 and 120lbs.
I'm doing 300 crunches everyday and 50 push-ups and 50 chin-ups everyday, doing it for almost a year and the result is good.

However, some of my classmates told me that doing crunches everyday isn't good for the abs. They told me that doing it 3 times a week w/ 1 day interval would be better to work the abs out. They said that I need to let my abs heal for a day.

Is it true? Or my everyday body weight training is fine?

Answers would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

What works for some doesn't work well with others. How do you feel about it? the result it good and you are a year in. Are you worn out? feel like a change? want to bulk? have a new focus?

if not, carry on.

I don't have any bad feeling when I work out. I can say that I'm not worn-out and yes, I want to bulk up.

Is it true that letting my abs heal for a day before working it out again will help it grow bigger and stronger? And does working out everyday using body weight could lead to injury?

Muscles do need time to grow and if you are finding you are not growing that much this may be the reason.
As mentioned above everyone is different with different goals.
You have the luxury that you can mis things up so why not change your routine for a couple of months and see what happens. i.e. dont hit the same muscles each day.
It is pretty important to know what you want to achieve though and tailor your training to these goals.

Oh I see...

I'd try to find a new routine that's suitable for my goal.

How about alternating my abs and chest each day. would it let my muscles heal?

Depends how fast you recover. Again everyone is different.
You got more muscles than chest and abs tho buddy so make sure you dont forget about them too :)

Actually you might want to check out innfights training log here and his web page for workouts….his Training is very similar to BW workouts, though not purely BW training. It’s very fine training and something that could help you.

That workout sounds good. My only concern is that you have been doing the same thing for a year. There's something called periodization in the strength and conditioning world. It simply means to mix up your training.

SAIDs means Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. Your body has already gotten used to that routine a long time ago. Change up the movements with: prone iso abs (instead of crunches), plyo push ups ( instead of regular push ups) and plyo pull ups and/or arm hangs (instead of pull ups).
